April 2016

We popped a cork to celebrate our 6-year anniversary! That makes 73 straight months of meetups that began in April 2010.

This month Jay Epstein (@jeppy64 http://jay-epstein.com/) talked about whether to use Drupal 7 or Drupal 8 for new site. He started off the presentation talking how Dries started it all back in his dorm room during his University years in Belgium. After talking about the early days of Drupal, he talked about the significant changes in every release starting with Drupal 4.7. Then he moved on to discuss how thing evolved in Drupal 5, Drupal 6 and Drupal 7. This helped frame the discussion of where we are now with Drupal 7 and Drupal 8. The rest of the presentation was spent talking about difference scenarios that ended up with a decision to choose D7 or D8.

We left some time at the end of the meetup for Q&A.

We had five remote users and six in person.
